Job Description: G3 Innovative Solutions is seeking a Senior Cloud Assessor to evaluate and strengthen the security of mission-critical cloud platforms for a federal customer. The role will combine cloud security engineering, risk and control assessment, incident readiness, and cybersecurity strategy to improve resilience and compliance.
The selected candidate will act as a senior technical advisor, partnering with platform teams, government stakeholders, and security counterparts to identify threats, recommend improvements, and support secure operations. .
Duties and responsibilities:
Compensation: $120,000 - $135,000 annually depending on experience and candidate qualifications

The role will combine cloud security engineering, risk and control assessment, incident readiness, and cybersecurity strategy to improve resilience and compliance.
The selected candidate will act as a senior technical advisor, partnering with platform teams, government stakeholders, and security counterparts to identify threats, recommend improvements, and support secure operations. .
Duties and responsibilities:
- Assess cloud architectures, security controls, and monitoring capabilities to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead development and refinement of cloud security policies, incident-response plans, and cyber resilience strategies.
- Design and improve secure cloud architectures and security monitoring approaches across enterprise platforms.
- Analyze complex security information to detect, investigate, remediate, and prevent cyber threats.
- Advise engineering and application teams on secure coding, data protection, network defense, and architecture practices.
- Coordinate vulnerability management efforts and communicate actionable remediation priorities.
- Support COMSEC operations and cryptographic key management systems (CKMS) as required by the mission.
- Evaluate compliance with applicable NIST guidance, CNSSI 4009 terminology, DoD policies, and related federal standards.
- Coordinate with government and industry security partners, lead technical workstreams, and mentor junior personnel.
- Prepare risk findings and executive-level security briefings for cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen and currently possess an active Top Secret security clearance.
- Eight or more years of cybersecurity experience, including at least three years in a cloud security role.
- Deep knowledge of security approaches used in cloud environments and distributed enterprise architectures.
- Expertise in security architecture, threat modeling, network defense, data protection, and risk assessment.
- Demonstrated experience in incident response, security log correlation, and vulnerability remediation.
- Ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor team members, and brief senior stakeholders clearly.
Desired:
- CISSP, CCSP, AWS Security, or GIAC GCIH certification.
- Experience with COMSEC and cryptographic key management systems.
- Experience supporting federal cloud security assessments and NIST-aligned compliance efforts.
