Job Description: 
G3 is searching for a Data Security Engineer who will provide subject matter expertise to the Chief Data Officer (CDO) Directorate and support to other senior level stakeholders. The selected candidate must be able to provide strategic advice, counsel, and sound recommendations to support and defend policy decisions, synchronize investments, and drive sound outcomes.

The successful candidate will provide technological, business, and tactical guidance and leadership to the CDO. They will be responsible for the coaching, mentoring, and professional development of team members. Also, they will identify opportunities for enhancing the data security capabilities to support and achieve overall agency objectives.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Develop applicable documents with the client to ensure executability and adherence to Department of Defense IT policies.
  • Develop documents to support Program Objective Memorandum Requirements
  • Support the development and maintenance of CDO documentation.
  • Assist with the development of annual reporting requirements to Congress.
  • Inform senior leaders within the DoD on CDO requirements.
  • Provide effective verbal and written correspondence.
  • Identify improvements to processes and workflows, related to physical and logical data protection.
  • Collaborate with Information Security, Network Security, and compliance teams to validate that Data security design, processes and procedures align with broader agency policies, standards and requirements.
  • Lead work investigating complex technical matters on a global sea le spanning multiple disciplines such as storage technologies, network security, identity management, data destruction methodologies, and workflow integration.
  • Achieve CDO's data security operational objectives.
  • Utilize data security best practice processes around work assignments, project management, and quality of output while maximizing overall team performance.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders to improve services and ensure service levels are achieved.
  • Collaborate within team to clarify work objectives, address, and resolve issues, and generate creative solutions to challenges and opportunities.
  • Partner with more senior Technology leadership to brainstorm new solution strategies.

  • Contribute to CDO's Data security strategy development and ensures appropriate focus and alignment.
Requirements:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 or more years of experience showing a strong ability to develop collaborative and productive relationships with a wide range of cross functional leaders and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated technical track record with proven experience developing data security standards.
  • 10 or more years of experience leveraging business understanding and experience to effectively prioritize the team and project activities.
  • 10 or more years of experience engaging with customer, partner, and internal stakeholders to ensure proper project definition, implementation, and monitoring.
  • 10 or more years of experience demonstrated ability to translate complex security data models and analysis into simple and actionable components.
  • 10 or more years of experience with performing CDO analysis, process analysis, and requirements analysis
  • Strong logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, including ability to pivot and respond to and integrate information from various sources.
  • Ability to absorb and synthesize information from various outlets and develop effective products for senior DoD leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to master other computer applications quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic work environment and ability to coordinate and perform multiple assignments.
  • Demonstrates a broad understanding of how effective information and data management underpins significant aspects of data capability and business performance
Desired:
  • Desired experience working with Special Access Programs.
  • Additionally, desired experience working at the OSD, Joint Staff or Service Staff level
